Josh and Mallory Carter have lived the modern homestead life for over ten years. On the place they call home near Brevard, NC, they homeschool three children, keep 2 dairy cows (Myrtle and Delilah), and take on projects such as making butter and cheese, maple syrup, building a creek-fed pond, growing a seasonal garden, and staying on top of the filling and emptying of jars. They are a core component of the popular grassroots music band Pretty Little Goat, with Josh on mandolin and Mallory on percussion.
