In April of this year, Mother Earth News Fair came to town, expanded their ever-popular weekend conferences to the Southeast US. They brought in a whopping 16,000 folks to our humble Asheville to network, learn, and gather inspiration for a home spun life. Our very informal sense of things is that at least 50% of the attendees were from out-of-state; regions that have little to no support for learning self-reliant skills.

Organic Growers School has been hosting sustainability education since 1993. We are the tried-and-true, local Mother Earth News Fair. This fall we’re putting on an event during the same weekend as Organic Fest (organized by, not us). But it’s a way for us to bring attention to our local knowledge and showcase Asheville as a mecca for organic education that’s homespun.

Here’s the lineup.

Organic Growers School, in partnership with Organicfest brings you the Asheville Organic Weekend, September 5-7, 2014. A full weekend of organic food education and celebration.
