Silvopasture ~ Animals in the Woods! Farm Tour
In partnership with the Appalachian Beginning Forest Farming Coalition, Organic Growers School is hosting a public farm tour at Glorious Forest in Mars Hill, NC with a focus on forest farming techniques. Come learn about the diverse ways to use mountainous land! Glorious Forest is working to harvest native staple foods and integrate animal systems into existing forests and renovated pastures. The tour will include hazelnut variety trials and breeding plots, polyculture tree crop plantings, and diverse silvopasture systems.
Who: You! This tour is open to the public. Come learn with us!
When: Sunday, September 23rd, 2018, 2-6PM
Where: Glorious Forest, Mars Hill, NC. Specific address and directions will be sent to all registered participants.
Cost: $5 for the public, free for CRAFT Members. Please register using the form below. Attendance is limited to 40 participants.
Notes: There is an optional potluck at the end of the farm tour. if you’d like to join us for that, please plan on bringing a dish to share and your own eating plates/utensils. Please take note that parking is down the road from the farm. There will be shuttles from the lot for attendees to get on-site, but plan on carpooling to the lot as well.
