Debbie talks to groupWhat are WNC CRAFT Farm Tours?

Farm Tours form the core of the WNC CRAFT training program. Tours occur 1-2 times monthly, sometimes on Saturdays and sometimes on Sundays. Tours consist of an overview of the farming operation, as well as a focused look at a topic of that farmer’s choosing. Topics include  greenhouse management, irrigation, soils, production planning, livestock, and more. Tours are always followed by a group potluck!

CRAFT’s grassroots nature means that each farmer host gives a tour on topics that he or she feels comfortable with. Core checklist topics will always be covered, as the group has agreed these are areas of farm management that need particular attention. However, additional topics may also be included, such as forest products, biodynamic growing methods, value-added, etc.
