Home Grower Programs
Organic Growers School serves home growers of all stages because they are central, dynamic, and vital partners in our move towards a thriving organic food community.
We believe that everyone has the capacity to produce their own food, no matter how much or how little. It is our mission to inspire, educate, and support organic gardening for growers of all skill levels. Whether you’re staring at your lawn and wondering how to turn it into a garden, or you’ve been growing your own food for decades, OGS is here to help. Between our annual conference, gardener programs, and website, we’re striving to be the information hub for the organic gardening community in Southern Appalachia.
Our Home-Grower Programs are designed to empower, educate & inspire gardeners, homesteaders and sustainability seekers:
- Come to OGS’ annual Spring Conference or Harvest Conference.
- Online resources for Gardeners include a glossary of gardening terms, our garden management library, and our gardener advice column, Ask Ruth.
- We have recently partnered with AmeriCorps Project Conserve to develop new programming and workshops for gardeners. Check out our blog to read more about what our service member is doing with her AmeriCorps service.
