A graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1989, Dr. Biddle completed his residency in Internal Medicine in Portland, Oregon, in 1992. Dr. Biddle is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and also certified in Chelation Therapy, Hypnotherapy, Massage, and Reiki. His passion is combing the best of conventional and cutting-edge medical care. He has special interests in clinical nutrition, hormones, toxic heavy metals, and hyperbaric oxygen treatments. His passions include permaculture and sustainability.
Carol Koury, Founder & President

Founder of Sow True Seed, Carol Koury, began her career as an advocate for animal protection, and expanded to become a financial advisor, an activist for women’s health and for the environment. Inspired by her father and grandmother, who grew most of the food she ate during her childhood, Carol, in turn, grew food for herself and her family. In the process, she became especially committed to providing healthy alternatives to conventionally produced food by supporting local agriculture and education about where food comes from. In addition to her many responsibilities as CEO, Carol is also Sow True’s photographer, den mother, chocolate provider, and Enneagram administrator.

Rebecca Friedman grew up in a rural mountainous part of upstate New York, on 170 untamed acres. In 2009 she relocated from the NY area to Asheville, determined to join a more supportive food community. Since coming here her business has been well received, and she is blessed to have a network of amazing farmers and artisans. She is able to produce food that makes her proud – locally sourced, organically grown, and sold to me by the very farmers and artisans who grow and produce it. No middle men, no trucks, truly farm to table. It feels great to work like this. In her spare time, Rebecca tries to volunteer with a few different types of causes. She cares deeply about genetic modification of our food supply and wants to help ASHEVILLE become the first food region in the US to go GMO free.

Kelly Shea heads up Government & Industry Relations at WhiteWave Foods. Kelly works to advance issues key to the organic and non-GMO farming and processing communities. She has a leadership role in the organic food industry, serving on the Board of Directors of the Organic Trade Association and has also served on the Boards of the Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI), the Foundation Sponsors’ Board of the FFA, and the Non-GMO Project.
